Sports Physio Andrew Ryan

Andrew is a Director of The Sports Physio Clinic and has been Practice Principal since 2005, overseeing its growth from a single clinic in Narrabeen to the addition of West Pymble in 2010.

Originally a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Emergency and ICU, Andrew transitioned into physiotherapy, becoming an APA Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist in 2007. With extensive experience in elite sports, he has worked across Rugby Union & AFL at both national & international levels.

Alongside his role at the clinic, Andrew is part of the medical team for the GWS Giants and has worked with the Wallabies, Mitsubishi DynaBoars, Warringah Rugby, and Gordon Rugby.

He continues to split his time between both practices and professional sports commitments, bringing a wealth of experience in high-performance athlete care.

Liz is a highly experienced Senior Sports Physiotherapist who has been an integral part of our West Pymble team since 2016.

Graduating with a degree in physiotherapy the same year, she has developed extensive expertise across multiple sports, including rugby union, netball, and kayaking at the representative level.

Liz currently balances her clinical role with her commitments in elite rugby union. She has worked with high-performance programs such as the Australian Rugby 7’s Pathway, Eastwood Rugby & the IRRA Rugby Program, as well as Manly Warringah Sapphires Netball.

Her experience in injury management, rehabilitation & performance support makes her a valuable asset to both athletes and our team.

Emily Brisbane Physio

Emily is an experienced physiotherapist with a strong background in netball & sports injury management. She is Team Physiotherapist for the South Coast Blaze in the Netball NSW Premier League and has worked with elite programs, including the Sydney Netball Academy and NSW State U17s.

Originally from Orange, NSW, Emily joined our team in 2020 & brings expertise in injury assessment, rehabilitation & return-to-play planning. She is also skilled in designing injury prevention programs tailored to netball & rugby athletes.

She has worked with Knox Old Boys, KWP Rugby & is an ASCA L1 Strength & Conditioning Coach – integrating performance-based rehabilitation into her practice.

Emily works at both Pymble Ladies' College (in term) & West Pymble at Philip Mall.

Grace is a highly skilled physiotherapist at West Pymble & clinician researcher at the University of Sydney and Sydney Children's Hospitals Network. Her research focuses on leveraging digital technologies to enhance health services, reflecting her commitment to innovation in patient care.

In addition to her expertise in sports physiotherapy, Grace has a strong clinical interest in neck pain, migraines/headaches & rheumatology. She takes a collaborative approach to treatment, ensuring management plans are both achievable and impactful for her patients.

Currently completing her PhD, Grace has transitioned to a casual role with us to dedicate more time to her research. While she may not be available for regular appointments, you will still see her from time to time as she steps in to support our team.

Jack is a physiotherapist with extensive experience in sports injury management across high-performance teams and busy clinics. He holds a Master of Physiotherapy from University of Sydney & a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Newcastle.

Jack has worked with elite & amateur athletes including UNSW Rugby, Knox Old Boys Rugby & has had valuable experience with the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Wests Tigers. 

He has completed the APA Sports Level 2, Dry Needling & ASCA Level 1 Strength & Conditioning qualification.

His evidence-based approach and passion for athlete care make him a valuable addition to our team.

Vee is a physiotherapist with nearly a decade of experience in elite sports rehabilitation. Since graduating in 2015, he has worked extensively across football, basketball & hockey, providing high-level physiotherapy support to athletes at both national & international levels.

His experience includes – Head Physiotherapist Western Sydney Wanderers Snr. Academy (2016 – 18) & Aus. Physiotherapist U18 Men’s Water Polo at the World Cup. He has played a key role in national hockey, covering NSW U18 & U21 Boys Hockey Championships.

He is co-director of United Sports & dedicated to advancing injury prevention, performance optimisation & coach education. His commitment to athlete development make him a valuable leader in the field of sports physiotherapy.

Jess is a highly skilled physiotherapist with a Master of Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy (2024) and a strong background in sports injury management. Since graduating from ACU in 2019, he has worked across multiple sports, gaining valuable experience in rehabilitation, injury prevention, and athlete performance.

He has a particular interest in dry needling and the treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction and jaw pain, providing specialized care for patients with complex musculoskeletal conditions.

Jess has worked with a range of elite and community sports teams, including Knox Rugby Club (Knox Old Boys), Cricket NSW, Indoor Cricket, St Pius X College Rugby, Blacktown City FC (NPL1), and Blacktown Magic AFL. His diverse experience allows him to tailor treatment plans that optimize recovery and performance for athletes at all levels.

Simon is an experienced physiotherapist with a strong background in sports science and athlete performance. After completing his Doctorate of Physiotherapy in 2020, he joined our team in 2021 and now works exclusively at Pymble Ladies' College during term time.

With extensive experience in sports coverage, Simon has worked as Head Academy Sports Scientist for the Central Coast Mariners and as a Sports Science Consultant for Brisbane Olympic FC.

In 2022, he traveled with the Pymble Ladies' College Rugby team to the USA and continues to coordinate the school's sports coverage program.

His expertise in football and rugby enhances his ability to develop tailored injury prevention and rehabilitation programs for young athletes.
